In addition Australia should be fielding at least seven Wireless Institute of Australia HQ stations – VK1WIA, VK2WIA, VK3WIA, VK4WIA, VK5WIA, VK6WIA and VK7WIA. We are hoping that we may even be able to get VK8WIA on-air, but this is a work in progress.

9H6YI Issued

Hi all

I have now been issued with the call 9H6YI for the contest. Fingers crossed we make it in the van, leaving UK on the 4th, lots can go wrong!! I plan taking 100w rig and verticals for all bands and backup dipoles for 40-20-10 for G. If we make it Ok ( D.V.) the setup will be on Southwest Gozo on a high spot site, with campervan and generator.

Commonwealth Contest UK&CD HQ stations 2022 – update

The Commonwealth Contest (aka ‘Beru’) is 4 weekends away. We hope for a good turnout and solar flux numbers continuing in the right direction…;-)

The current situation of the home HQ stations can be seen on the qrz.com page for G6XX which is summarised below – thanks to all who will be activating these special calls:-

GB5CC – GM3WOJ
GX66 – Newbury and District ARC
GM6XX – GM3WUX
GD6XX – GD4XUM
GI6XX – GI4DOH**
GW6XX – GW0ETF (+GW0GEI?)
(** Richard GI4DOH remains willing to consider handing over the call to another suitable GI/MI op if one comes forward)

GU and GJ remain unrepresented despite my/our efforts. We remain open to offers from full license holders who are RSGB Contest Club members, and part time and/or multi-op would be considered..!

Hi Bob,

I plan to be activating ZF2CA as normal. Fingers crossed I will be there in person, but if not then it will be remote as last year. I hear that Covid infections have only been a big nuisance there more recently than many other places; I am duly watching with bated breath the progress of the ZF1A teams in the ARRL DX contests…
