I’m pleased to advise that Wayne W5XD has updated the RSGB Commonwealth Contest module in the WriteLog logging software. The updated module is now available in WriteLog version 12.15D and can be downloaded from https://writelog.com/downloads/writelog-versions . [Note: You need to be a registered user of WriteLog and the registration fee is $30 USD]
This updated module fixes a number of deficiencies with the previous version, including:
– updating the list of Commonwealth Call Areas (CCAs);
– recording the list of valid CCAs in a text file which can be edited to address future changes to CCAs;
– adding logic to display whether a new QSO is eligible for bonus points; and
– adding new multiplier status window options to display the CCAs on each band for which three bonus point QSOs have been claimed, and which HQ stations have been worked on each band.
I’m a long term fan of WriteLog for contest logging due to its clean user interface, simplicity, reliability, and support for a wide range of contests. So I’m looking forward to using the updated module in the 2017 Commonwealth contest. I encourage others to have a closer look at the program, especially if you are still contemplating which program to use for the 2017 Commonwealth contest.
